We design accessible, sustainable, and transformative solutions to challenges facing the global community by redesigning the tools and strategies of global development.
TOOLS & STRATEGIES
Tools are expressions of how well we match our technological and human capabilities to our vision. They are the instruments we make and use to bridge the gap between possibility and reality. We empower them by developing strategies to integrate their functionality and by deploying them in pursuit of our objectives. We design these tools and strategies – whether products, institutions, or policies – according to our understanding of the nature and urgency of the obstacles and opportunities before us. They are reflections of our values and have the potential to affect an entire populace. They ultimately determine our chances of success.
REDESIGN
By redesigning these tools and strategies, we give ourselves the chance to redefine the vision of the world we are building. We have an opening to challenge the assumptions and reexamine the intentions that underly that which we have inherited. Through redesign we find an opportunity to re-equip ourselves with advances in technology, experience, and understanding. We empower ourselves anew with a heightened ability to conquer unprecedented complexity and better match our ability to the challenges we face.
GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT
We concentrate on empowering global development by creating tools and strategies to make communities around the world safer and more prosperous. We see the causes of public health, resources, infrastructure, and economic opportunity as the most fundamental and urgent. They are the ingredients of freedom and themselves tools to human advancement. The way we respond to these technological, economic, political, environmental challenges will define us. It is in global development that we find the greatest opportunity and urgency to redesign.
ACCESSIBILITY & SUSTAINABILITY
Change for the sake of change is not enough. Progress is not the product of abstract indulgence or design in a vacuum. We exist to improve outcomes and therefore design two primary qualities into our work: Accessibility and Sustainability. We strive to radically reduce barriers to global participation – like cost, availability, and relevancy – by fusing affordability and localization. Our work must have the ability to sustain itself and exist in proper proportion to the environment. Several of our initiatives go further than responsibility and assertively improve our relationship to the environment and our use of resources.
Designing sustainability into our work means more than just environmental responsibility. The ability to sustain is the pursuit permanence, which we view holistically in terms of resources and value. We design solutions that are financially sustainable, incorporating a deep understanding of market principals with our mission. By harnessing the self-sufficiency of market participation to match our charitable mission, we can attract the investment of all sectors and begin to make the solutions themselves sustainable.
Accessibility and sustainability are more than just qualities of what SEEDR designs; they are qualities also at the core of SEEDR itself. Of the profits SEEDR generates from its work, we reinvest 80 percent into SEEDR, helping to sustain and augment the cause of redesigning global development.
